Drakakis Tours was founded in 1993 by George Drakakis, a visionary Kytherian entrepreneur.
The agency began by operating the island’s local bus routes, organizing excursions, and providing ferry and air tickets to residents and visitors alike.
Through dedication and trust, George established the company as the leading travel agency on Kythira.
In 2003, he passed the torch to his son Panos Drakakis, who brought new energy and expertise to the family business.
Armed with a deep understanding of the travel industry, Panos expanded the company’s services — shaping Drakakis Tours into a modern, full-service travel partner while keeping its heart firmly rooted in personal customer care.
In 2008, Panos founded Drakakis Rent a Car, starting with a modest fleet of 10 vehicles.
Today, the company operates over 120 vehicles, making it one of the largest and most trusted car rental providers on the island.
Since 2009, Drakakis Tours has strengthened its collaborations with major travel agencies in Greece and abroad.
Through participation in international tourism exhibitions, the company has promoted both Kythira and its own services to new audiences, helping increase the number of travelers who discover the island each year.
In February 2020, Drakakis Tours became the main agent of Seajets for Kythira and Antikythera, offering connections with Piraeus, Crete, Antikythera, and Gythio — further enhancing accessibility to the islands.
