Departure

Morning departure from the port of Kythira (Diakofti or Kapsali – depending on the weather). We continue our journey passing by the rocky island of Prasonisi or Prassou where it is located between Kythira and Antikythira. If weather conditions permit it, we will stop for a dive to the crystal-clear waters.

Arrival Antikythira

Upon our arrival in Antikythera we start a magical journey to a peaceful island which has remained unchanged over time and fascinates with its wild beauty. The permanent residents of the island are 45, most of whom are in the village of Potamos, which is also the port of the island and our first stop. The transportation on the island will be carried out by private means. We will visit the Temple of Saint Myron, the patron and protector of Antikythera. In the Church of Agios Myronos we can admire the icons with the images of Christ, Virgin Mary and Agios Myronos which are made of pure silver. The holiest relic of the island is also kept there: the icon of Saint Myron, found in Antikythera by Cretans, when the island was deserted.

Return

As we return, we will pass from the location of Camarela, one of the most impressive parts of the island, with blue-green crystal waters and steep rocks that rise into the sea. After a short stop for photo shooting we will return to Potamos, the port of Antikythira.

We suggest having a short swim in the small beach of the port or visit one of the traditional taverns – grocery stores of the island, to taste the typical traditional dish of Antikythera, the delicious wild goat! Before leaving Antikythera, we will gaze at the sea, the “mouth of the harbor” , the spot of the wreck of Antikythera where the famous Antikythera Mechanism was found. We will surely feel an infinite peace and tranquility pervade us while we will then board the boat for the return to Kythira where our excursion ends.

* In case weather conditions are not favorable, the return to Kythira can be done with the ferry.
